The College Student Services Administration program (CSSA) has infinitely changed my life for the better. It has pushed me in multiple ways, and I am not only a better student affairs professional for it, but I am also overall a better human being. Three years is not a long time in the grand scheme of things; however, this program has encouraged a great deal of personal growth (more than I thought would happen) during that short time. This capstone project gave me a chance to share what I have learned through the CSSA Program as well as the professional and educational opportunities I had along the way, and how these experiences and opportunities have shaped my understanding of the student affairs profession. I am thankful for the opportunity to share my experiences during classes, internships, and work experiences. As a student affairs professional, I see myself embarking on a lifelong journey of learning and the CSSA program has been an incredible opportunity to kickstart that journey.

I would not be where I am without thanking a few of those that have helped me along the way:

  • To my parents, sister, and brother-in-law: I would not have gotten through this program without your constant support.
  • To my Graduate Committee: Marigold, Jackie & Kim – Your guidance through this program has been life changing and your encouragement throughout this process means so much to me.
  • To other students in the CSSA program: You have been a wonderful community of learners, who pushed and inspired me when I needed it the most. I am thankful we got to have this opportunity together.
  • To the Oregon State Alumni Association: For giving my start in this field, even though I would not have thought my time with you would lead me here.
